For the first time, the sovereign is greeted by leaders and representatives from different religions on departure from the Abbey, showing respect to the religious diversity of the realms. In a spoken greeting, these faith leaders speak with their own voices as individual communities, but deliver the greeting in unison as a community of faiths, giving thanks for The King’s reign: “Your Majesty, as neighbours in faith, we acknowledge the value of public service. We unite with people of all faiths and beliefs in thanksgiving, and in service with you for the common good.“
Also present on Their Majesties’ departure were the Governors-General of His Majesty’s Realms.
