Robes of Estate

As Their Majesties depart the Abbey, they wear the Robes of Estate and with The King wearing the Imperial State Crown. The robes are made of purple velvet trimmed with Miniver and are traditionally more personalised in design, particularly for female Sovereigns and Consorts. The King decided to use the Robe of Estate made for his grandfather, King George VI.
