The Veni Creator Spiritus is an ancient text and marks a significant moment in the Coronation. It follows the oaths and prayers that state the unique roles of monarchy. It is best known in the translation by Bishop John Cosin (1594-1672): ‘Come Holy Ghost, our souls inspire’. At the Coronation, it was sung in Irish Gaelic, Scots Gaelic, Welsh and English to represent the four nations that make up the United Kingdom.
